Top Sandbox Games on iOS in the US: Q1 2025

In the first quarter of 2025, the sandbox gaming category on iOS in the United States showed diverse performance metrics across the top apps, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Roblox from Roblox Corporation had a notable start to the quarter with weekly revenue peaking at around $12.9M at the end of December. However, this figure saw a decline, reaching approximately $512K by the end of March. Downloads also decreased from 413.8K to 261.3K over the same period. The app's weekly active users started at 27M and ended at about 21.4M, showing a downward trend.

Melon: Sandbox by Payge Ltd experienced a rise in revenue, peaking at $55.5K in mid-March. Downloads fluctuated, with a high of 71.3K in the week of March 10th, while active users increased from 850.9K to 729K, peaking at 824K mid-quarter.

Minecraft: Dream it, Build it! from Mojang demonstrated an upward trend in revenue, finishing the quarter at $1.3M. Downloads varied, with a notable increase to 47.8K by the last week of March. Active users also rose, starting at 3.1M and ending at 3.2M.

Block Craft 3D: Building Games from Wildlife Studios had stable revenue figures, ending at $6.1K. Downloads increased slightly, reaching 41.7K by the quarter's end. Active users, however, saw a decline from 131.2K to 84K.

Finally, Rooms from Things, Inc. showed a mixed pattern with downloads fluctuating significantly, peaking at 52.9K in late February. Active users grew from 171.6K to 239.6K, indicating a growing user base despite no revenue.
